The Capella Ubud was designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley, one of the top 100 designers in the world, according to the prestigious magazines Time and Architectural Digest. Inspired by the life of the first European settlers in Bali in the early 1800s, the resort consists of 22 one-bedroom tents and one two-bedroom tent, each with a customized design based on the characters and occupations of the early explorers, such as captain, naturalist, cartographer, translator, toy maker and horn collector. It is this unique way of bringing Bali’s exotic past to life that attracts so many sophisticated travelers to the hotel.
