At the foot of Mont Blanc, in the heart of the Courmayeur resort, where the warmth of Italian tradition meets the best mountain hospitality, there are two wonderful properties. One of them is the five-star Le Massif Hotel & Lodge, just a stone’s throw from the ski lifts and the town’s central streets. The second is the La Loge du Massif chalet, located on the most popular slopes in Europe, 50 meters from the gondola landing point and 50 meters from the best local ski school.
The chalet does not have rooms, but it has everything else: an excellent restaurant (a rarity at such an altitude) and a terrace with a view of Mont Blanc, a ski room where you can leave all your equipment, and a kids’ club. Children will definitely be fed lunch or dinner – for them, the hotel always offers “all inclusive”. The ski school is tailored specifically for children, the instructors speak different languages, so there will definitely be someone with whom the child will find a common language.
The terrain of the resort is varied, no one will be bored, even the most advanced skiers and snowboarders. In Italy, unlike neighboring France, skiing from a helicopter (heli-skiing) is allowed. You can also ask for an experienced instructor, and they will arrange a three-four-hour descent almost from the top of Mont Blanc. This is an incredible adventure: slow, long, on powder, with stops to enjoy the panorama and have a snack with a view of the mountain ranges.
After such skiing, guests are encouraged to relax in the spa. Le Massif offers treatments using healing essential oils of lavender, heather, calendula and other alpine plants, which will help you recover after a day of sports.
