Sir Robin Knox-Johnston went down in sailing history as the first person to successfully circumnavigate the globe on a sailing ship solo. This took place in 1969 as part of the Golden Globe sailing race, organized by the Sunday Times newspaper. Of the 9 participants, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston was the only one who reached the finish line – the exciting journey around the Earth on the Suhaili yacht took 312 days.

From 23 November to 1 December 2023, resort guests will be able to take part in personal yachting training offered by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston on board his luxurious 23-metre yacht Soneva in Aqua. Guests will embark on an exciting journey across the waves of the Indian Ocean, enjoying fascinating stories about Sir Robin Knox-Johnston’s amazing voyages.

Taking advantage of the freedom granted by the travel on a personal yacht, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston set sail aboard Soneva in Aqua for the first time in 2017. This is when he experienced Soneva’s legendary hospitality first-hand.
