82nd Venice International Film Festival with Belmond: The Art of Cinema and Travel
28 June 2025
From August 27 to September 6, 2025, the 82nd Venice Film Festival, also known as Mostra, will be held in Venice. One of the oldest and most prestigious international film festivals is held annually on the island of Lido.
Its history dates back to 1932. The festival was not held only a few times – during World War II and from 1973 to 1978.
All screenings at the film festival are premieres: presenting a film here is no less prestigious than in Cannes. Mostra attracts a large number of world movie stars, famous directors and is an important event for the film industry. Winning the main prize of the festival – the Golden Lion – for a director is equivalent to an impeccable reputation and a pass to a happy professional life.
The main program includes:
• Main competition.
• Out-of-competition screenings.
• Orizzonti (Horizons) and Venetian Classics sections.
• Film Market.
The official program of the Venice Film Festival 2025 is still unknown, but we can already talk about some expected premieres. Among them are the sports drama The Smashing Machine with Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, the thriller After the Hunt with Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield, and the fantastic comedy Bugonia.
The screenings will take place in the historic Palazzo del Cinema on the Marconi embankment.
Á La Carte Premium will help you book a stay in the very center of the action – at the legendary Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel located on the quiet tip of the Giudecca Island, opposite St. Mark’s Square. Panoramic views of the lagoon, green gardens, a pool with sea water – the atmosphere of a true Dolce Vita. During the festival, celebrities stay here, and this is a rare chance to see them in person.
You can diversify your trip by traveling on the legendary and luxurious Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, A Belmond Train, which connects Venice and Verona with Paris. It is a work of art in itself, made in the spirit of Art Deco, with three restaurant cars and a bar with an exclusive selection of champagne.
And after Venice, go to other cities in Italy, staying at premium Belmond hotels:
• Caruso and Villa Margherita, Amalfi Coast;
• Romazzino, Costa Smeralda, Sardinia;
• Villa San Michele, Florence;
• Splendido and Splendido Mare, Portofino;
• Grand Hotel Timeo and Villa Sant’Andrea, Sicily;
• Castello di Casole, Tuscany.
Since 2019, Belmond has been part of the LVMH group (Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton). Belmond recently unveiled a new series of films, Discover the New Pace of Travel, an inspiring cinematic experience narrated by Oscar-winning Tilda Swinton. The films embody the spirit of ‘understated luxury’ found in all Belmond properties around the world, from hotels and trains to river cruises and safaris.
