On the eve of the New Year, Vakkaru Maldives introduced its new management who shared the New Year’s program, which it has prepared with unfailing love for its guests.

The New Year’s entertainment extravaganza will begin on December 17, when thousands of lights will light up on the main symbol of the festive season, the traditional Maldivian coconut “tree”. Every day for three weeks, guests of the island will be treated to tastings, art classes, gastronomic and spa trips, workshops, games for children and adults, and foam parties. The new team will be responsible for the hotel’s hospitality and guest comfort, starting from the festive season:

• Teddy Susanto Wiryawan – new general manager. He began his career at The Ritz-Carlton, Bali. Two years later, he left Indonesia for the UAE, where he spent six years honing his guest experience skills at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. He then held senior management positions across the globe, from Thailand to the Caribbean.

At Vakkaru Maldives, Teddy will be responsible for the hotel’s operations and will lead a team that exemplifies Maldivian warmth and hospitality. He is committed to making Vakkaru Maldives the premier resort not only in the Maldives but also beyond.

• Dr. Vipin Venugopal is the new Spa Director. Dr. Vipin’s experience at Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, Senna Wellness Retreat and The Leela Palace, as well as his wealth of knowledge, will help expand the hotel’s spa offerings to create unforgettable experiences.

• Mr. Nuaas Mohamed is the new Director of Sales and Marketing. With over 20 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry, Nuaas brings invaluable expertise in strategic business planning, segment sales and revenue management. His impressive resume includes positions at COMO Maalifushi and COMO Cocoa Island, W Maldives, Gili Lankanfushi and more.
