SAUDI ARABIA’S RED SEA COAST – A NEW TOURISM DESTINATION
22 January 2025
Á La Carte Premium, in partnership with the Saudi Arabian Tourism Authority, presents Saudi Red Sea, an exciting new coastal destination comprising three areas: North, Central and South.
In an era where coastal and marine travel accounts for over 50% of global tourism demand, Saudi Red Sea offers a bold, responsible model for the future of tourism. With over 1,000 pristine islands, 500 spectacular dive sites, 1,200 species of fish, 300 species of coral and 75 soft-sand beaches, this is a unique setting for exploring one of the world’s most extraordinary coastlines and longest vertical riviera.
Á La Carte Premium has already signed exclusive contracts and is making reservations with the first three international Red Sea resorts – Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea, The St Regis Red Sea Resort and Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. Another 13 resorts will open in 2025. Thus, in January 2025, the Rixos Obhur Jeddah hotel will open on the Red Sea coast in Jeddah.
And since December 16, Saudi Arabia has launched cruises on the Red Sea. You can go on a sea voyage on the 18-deck liner AROYA.
Northern Red Sea in Saudi Arabia
The Northern Red Sea in Saudi Arabia includes a number of iconic destinations, including NEOM, Sindalah and Amaala, offering travellers a luxury beach holiday. Guests can enjoy luxury resorts, superyachts and unique wellness programmes. For those who enjoy active holidays, you can charter a yacht, snorkel among vibrant coral reefs and go trekking through volcanic terrain.
Jeddah – Saudi Arabia’s Cosmopolitan Coastal Capital
The region is centred around Jeddah, Saudi Arabia’s cosmopolitan coastal capital, which combines local flair, culture and entertainment. Explore the labyrinthine historic district of Al Balad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, enjoy horse riding on the beach, fishing and boating. Jeddah combines city activities with marine activities and water sports at YAM Beach in the nearby King Abdullah Economic City.
From December 16, cruise enthusiasts can enjoy three-day sea voyages with cruise operator AROYA, departing from Jeddah and including a visit to a private island in the Red Sea.
And from April 17 to 20, 2025, Jeddah will host the Formula 1 Grand Prix on the fastest city circuit in the world.
Southern Red Sea region of Saudi Arabia
In the south, travelers will experience Arabian traditions and pristine nature. One of the region’s greatest treasures is the stunning Farasan Islands. Known for their lush mangrove forests, abundant wildlife and crystal clear waters, they attract adventurers and ecotourists. Equally impressive is exploring the misty peaks of the Fifa Mountains, where the views from over 1,800 metres above sea level are breathtaking.
For scuba diving enthusiasts, the Jazan coast offers exciting diving excursions among vibrant coral reefs and amazing marine life, far from the bustle of the city. For history buffs, Al Dosariyah Castle, perched on a mountain overlooking the port of Jazan, is a monument to military architecture from the 1930s and a symbol of the region’s rich heritage.
