In 15 years, Alila Villas Uluwatu has become one of the most famous hotels in Bali and has won many awards: for example, it was among the 5 best hotels on the island according to Travel + Leisure in 2022, and in 2023 it became “Best Cliff Resort” according to Exquisite Awards. The resort has also achieved the title of leader in the sustainable tourism segment on the island: Alila Villas Uluwatu is the first Balinese hotel to meet all the requirements of the Building, Planning and Design Standard certification created by the international organization Earth Check. The resort has also achieved Earth Check Platinum status.

The resort was designed to benefit from fresh ocean winds and uses local volcanic lava, known for its insulating properties, as finishing material. Thanks to this, the resort premises are cooled with minimal energy consumption. Alila Villas Uluwatu has its own plant nursery: some of the grown trees and shrubs are used to decorate the resort while some are planted in open nature to preserve the natural diversity of the island.
