Mandarin Oriental, Rome: Opening in 2026
29 May 2024
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced a unique project in the center of Rome, set to open in 2026. This urban oasis will expand the group’s portfolio in Italy to five properties, complementing existing hotels in Milan and Lake Como, as well as the recently announced Cortina and Porto Cervo. The project partner is Merope Asset Management, an Italian company specializing in investments and real estate.
Mandarin Oriental, Rome will be located in ten 19th-century villas, originally built as homes for affluent Romans, surrounded by lush landscaped gardens. Guests and visitors will be able to stroll in this quiet private quarter, just steps away from the city’s main attractions and archaeological monuments.
The villas will accommodate 108 rooms and suites, many of which will offer serene views of the gardens or city landmarks. Most suites will feature private gardens and terraces, making them even more tranquil and secluded.
Hotel guests can visit six restaurants and bars, all with different styles, including outdoor dining options and a standalone restaurant in one of the villas. The Mandarin Bar, located on an extensive rooftop terrace, offers breathtaking views of the city.
The spa will offer a wide range of award-winning wellness treatments. Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the modern gym facilities, while swimming enthusiasts will enjoy the large indoor and outdoor pools set amidst beautiful landscaped gardens. Six treatment rooms, one VIP room, thermal rooms, and a dedicated sun terrace will complement the wellness offerings.
