#PersonalExperience: Bagni di Pisa Palace & Thermal Spa
11 February 2025
In the #PersonalExperience section, we share the opinions of our employees and colleagues who have traveled with us or stayed at hotels that Á La Carte Premium cooperates with. Today, we share the impressions of a special correspondent and authorized agent of Á La Carte Premium, Vladimir Pozhidaev, from the thermal resort of Bagni di Pisa.
– “Bongiorno found me in the resort town of San Giuliano Terme, among the plains and hills of picturesque Tuscany, a few kilometers from Lucca and Livorno and not far from the coast of Versilia with its famous resorts of Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio.” Isn’t it a song?
The former residence of the Archduke of Tuscany is now the modern Bagni di Pisa hotel, which has only 41 rooms. Of these, 11 are Junior Suites and 9 are regular suites.
One of the 9 suites is mine today: a four-poster bed, a ceiling painted with original 18th-century frescoes, Carrara marble in the bathroom.
At the Dei Lorena restaurant, the chef still uses the recipes that were used to prepare exquisite treats for important guests in the 18th century. The hotel has a “hammam of the Grand Dukes” – a natural steam room located in a small thermal grotto, which is reached through a short tunnel.
After the “delightfully tiring” water procedures, the most tireless guests of Bagni di Pisa (and I am tireless!) can visit the top of the hill adjacent to the hotel’s courtyard. The path there winds like a serpentine among century-old olive trees, bergamot trees and giant cacti. From the top, which takes 7-10 minutes to climb, a panoramic view of Pisa opens up and you can see the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
There is also the Portico of the former coffee house, between the columns of which Empress Maria Theresia Josepha Johanna von Habsburg-Este, who often visited here, loved to read poetry and admire the sunsets. Do you feel it?
And now imagine: the voice of one of the most outstanding singers in the world, the amazing landscapes of Tuscany and an evening full of exquisite impressions. Only once a year, the amazing open-air amphitheater Teatro del Silenzio (“Theater of Silence”) opens its doors to spectators for a concert by the great Andrea Bocelli. This year it will take place on July 22!
We invite you to stay at the thermal residence Bagni di Pisa, built for the great dukes and preserved its beauty in its original form over many centuries.
Take advantage of the special offer from the Bagni di Pisa resort to create an unforgettable trip.
