#PersonalExperience: One&Only Royal Mirage Beach, Dubai
20 December 2024
In the #PersonalExperience section, we share the opinions of our employees and colleagues who have traveled with us or stayed at hotels that Á La Carte Premium cooperates with. Today, we share the impressions of a special correspondent and authorized agent of Á La Carte Premium, Vladimir Pozhidaev, from the beach of the One&Only Royal Mirage hotel in Dubai.
One morning, when I went into the sea, stingrays swam past me in the transparent coastal shallow water. Another time, a few steps from the shore, I found a starfish the size of my palm on the bottom, but I did not touch it. Incredible biodiversity against the backdrop of skyscrapers in the center of the metropolis!
I say: not only is the beach at One&Only Royal Mirage first-class, but the sea is also wonderful!
There was a time when the open sea stretched out in front of the hotel. On my first visit to Dubai in 2004, the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah had just been filled in. The horizon was more or less open in 2014, when I stayed at the hotel for the last time. But in the 10 years between the hotel and the Palm, another island was filled in, where they built a marina, including for megayachts, and filled up the surrounding land with more high-rise buildings with premium housing. So my Royal Mirage was cut off from the open sea.
Before arriving, I thought: such an authentic low-rise palace hotel of the 5* Deluxe level – and without the sea, which all our guests strive for!
But by some miracle, or rather thanks to technical enginuitu and well throughout planning and innovation, the sea water in the hotel bay circulates, and it is always fresh here. There are no strong waves here, the water is always calm, peaceful and tranquil, which is why it is transparent right at the shore, without sand and silt suspension.
By the way, the entrance to the sea is very comfortable – it is sandy for a kilometer. The sun loungers are installed at a distance of many meters from each other; here during my stay I sunbathed next to the ruling prince of Monaco Albert II and his august family.
