TA’AKTANA: a new resort on the map of Indonesia
26 June 2024
TA’AKTANA Resort & Spa, a Luxury Collection, is nested between a labyrinth of wild forests and the sparkling coastline of the Flores Sea on the island of the same name, in Labuan Bajo, one of Indonesia’s most scenic and distinctive holiday destinations, which serves as the gateway to the Komodo National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is just steps away from many cultural attractions, such as Mirror Stone Cave, Rumah Tenun, Melo Village and many others.
Short direct flights from Jakarta and Bali to Komodo International Airport, followed by a convenient 10-minute drive to TAAKTANA, provide easy access to the resort for discerning travelers.
The Luxury Collection is part of Marriott’s global portfolio of more than 30 outstanding hotel brands. TA’AKTANA is Marriott International’s first hotel in Labuan Bajo and The Luxury Collection’s second hotel in Indonesia.
The name “TAAKTANA” is translated from the local language of the inhabitants of the island of Flores as “green land” and refers to the web-shaped pattern characteristic of the rice fields, which serve as a valuable part of the traditional culture of the Manggaraya people. Staying true to its roots, the hotel embodies the history, culture and local traditions of the place, offering explorers around the world a unique and authentic experience.
Spaciously spread across 16 hectares, TA’AKTANA Hotel provides accommodations in 70 rooms, including 25 villas and 45 suites with open-air balconies with stunning sunset views. The 7 overwater villas offer more privacy and butler service.
Airy layouts, intricate interiors, rich textures, handcrafted wood finishes, elegant furnishings, and artwork reflect the natural surroundings and rich local culture.
