La Chaudanne: Accessible in both winter and summer and a Michelin star
21 June 2026
This high-altitude hotel is open from December to April and in July and August.
La Chaudanne is located in the heart of the Méribel ski resort, a short walk from the main ski lifts. It is approximately a 2-hour drive from Lyon International Airport and 2 hours and 15 minutes from Geneva Airport. In summer, Méribel offers active recreation, including hiking, golf, and cycling trails, including sections of the famous Tour de France route.
The hotel is part of a family-run group with the neighboring five-star Le Kaila, sharing a philosophy of attentive hospitality. This traditional wood and stone chalet-style building first opened in 1964. It offers just 64 rooms, each with a quintessential French Alpine ambiance: a calming beige and gray palette, wooden finishes, and charming décor with winter themes. The bathrooms feature toiletries from the French brand Nuxe.
The interior of the Michelin-recommended brasserie Le 80 is inspired by Jules Verne’s adventure novel “Around the World in 80 Days.” In the evenings, it offers a lively atmosphere with live music and DJ sets. The same building houses the restaurant L’Ekrin, created by Michelin-starred chef Laurent Azoulay. The spa features a 10-meter indoor pool, and all treatments are based on the effective and natural Nuxe cosmetics.
